About self-love and…

I’m an advocate of self-love. Just like a particular Dettol advert, pp”if I don’t take care of myself, who will?”

Talking about self-love. I have been taking myself out at least once a month in the last couple of months, and another thing I’ve been doing in the past years is buying myself a birthday gift.

Most of the times, the gift would come weeks or even a couple of months later. The bottom line for me is that I got myself a gift. I don’t do birthday party but the one thing I don’t miss is treating myself really right and nice for a birthday.

And one of my hobbies these days is going on AliExpress: adding random things to my cart and checking out whenever I have a couple of thousands of naira to spare.

Well, I like shopping for myself. It’s part of the self-love.

Whenever the delivery guy from NIPOST comes into the office, everyone would call my name even when the guy is delivering other people’s items 🤦‍♂️.

So, earlier in the office today, Titi expressed her desire to take ice cream and I asked if I could tag along. Chidinma, another colleague, also ended up joining us. We headed for Maryland Mall after close of work.

We bought our ice cream, sat down and we were chatting. It got to self-love which we all agreed is paramount.

I tweeted yesterday that someone wanted to take me out for my birthday but then, I’d be the one to foot the bill.

Titi brought up the conversation which was a shameful thing for me as an advocate of self-love.

Then it brought about this:

I spilled the beans to the girls which brought us back to the self-love topic. I confessed hurting myself in spite of preaching self-love.

About the taking out, you will get to know about it in the post about my boring love life. Well, that’s all for today.

I got home around 9pm and I only took some watermelon, now I want to fry one or two plantain. I canno come and go and kee myself 😉.

Till tomorrow.
