I’m not so good at recalling events but then, there are certain events which I can’t seem to forget.
This particular one is one of my secondary school memories.
I was in JSS 3 and back then, I was very playful 😉. I really don’t know about now, I think I just try to have fun these days.
We usually have our mathematics class in the morning, between 7am and 8:15am. On this faithful morning, we were about leaving the class when a female classmate shouted my name.
The beginning of the gbas gbos.
She was seating next to the person directly in my front. I tapped her on her shoulder a couple of times and she kept warning me. I’m talking about the tapping you give people and just look away immediately.
I stopped after a couple of warnings.
A couple of minutes later, my guy seating next to me tapped this girl again which was why she shouted my name to call the attention of the teacher who asked what has transpired.
She narrated her side of the story and I wasn’t allowed to share mine. The teacher said he was going to give me 6 strokes of cane.
For me mind, “that’s nothing,” without knowing what’s coming. I didn’t cry after the sixth stroke and the teacher said he won’t stop until he can see tears. Kilagbe kilaju.
See me forcing tears but it won’t come until the 11th stroke, I think.
The interesting thing is that I couldn’t give this particular teacher any attitude because mathematics was my best subject back then and the teacher really liked me.
One of the times we saw after I left secondary school. “That can’t be right,” was his response when I told him that I had B3 in mathematics. We both expected that it would be A1 if it doesn’t comes with a +. I practically eats and breathe mathematics back then.
Yeah, I know, that’s sounds like bragging 😎.
It’s day 20, we are almost there. Tomorrow is another day.
Stay safe, wash your hands regularly, avoid social gathering as much as possible. That’s my token of ❤️ for you.
