Issues with the school authority

Back in senior secondary classes, there’s hardly a time that I don’t have issues with the school authority.

There was the part of being a prefect and that of not following instructions.

For instance, I was carrying a big hair despite the instructions that every male students should be on low cut.

This was taken in SS2 I think

I do comb the hair by the way. And I was also carrying long finger nails 🤦‍♂️.

There were other rules. For example, we were forbidden from taking some kind of pictures. You can’t take pictures with a female students with your arms around her. Eewọ!

I would still go ahead and take pictures the way I liked. Like the one below:

That wasn’t me by the way 🤫.

As in the above picture, I wasn’t alone. A classmate of mine, not the ones in the picture, didn’t like the principal actions at a time, so he threatened him with a text message using an unknown number.

Fast forward to the following day, every class was on panic mode except ours. My classmate had confessed to a couple of us and we asked that he didn’t say anything, no matter what.

After much threatening, my guy caved in. Then the school management claimed that the whole class knew about it and would be punished.

What was the punishment? One week suspension or manual labor. You guessed right, I chose suspension alongside about 80% of the class.

Then our class teacher came and begged us to go for the manual labour. Her point was that choosing suspension would be considered rebellious. Well, we aren’t going to be punished for what we knew nothing about 😉. Yes, we didn’t do the threatening after all.

After a long deliberation between us and the teacher, we went for manual labour which wasn’t great and we still find a way to be rebellious while at it.

We didn’t complete the task assigned to us, we down tools after the third day I think. And some called in parents to the rescue.

I don’t know if I should conclude that I’ve changed a little or that circumstance hasn’t warrant the rebel in me, if there’s still any left. But in spite of all these, I was a brilliant students 😉

We are getting there, just a couple more days. And on the part of your safety: social distancing is key and if anyone coughs or sneezes beside you, japa. Also remember to wash your hands always.

❤️
